The history of progress is written in the blood of men and women who have dared to espouse an unpopular cause, as, for instance, the black man's right to his body, or woman's right to her soul.

Nationwide Impeachment Protests April 28th!

From:

Impeach '07

What's happening:

George Bush and Dick Cheney have lied the nation into a war of aggression, are spying in open violation of the law, and have sanctioned the use of torture. These are high crimes and misdemeanors that demand accountability through the Constitutional mechanism of impeachment. Since Congress doesn't seem to get it, we're calling on all Americans who stand for truth, freedom, and justice to join us on April 28 and spell it out for them: IMPEACH!

What you can do:

Start An Action! You can now add your A28 action directly to the ImpeachMap. Anybody can start an A28 action. It can be as small as writing IMPEACH on the sidewalk in chalk or as large as organizing 2,000 people on a beach to make a human mural. Be creative! Some of the ways that people are talking about spelling it out include: signs, gigantic lasers, toy soldiers, stencils, LED throwies, freewayblogging, banner drops, light projections, t-shirts, rocks, skydivers, skywriters, peaches, christmas lights, flags and balloons.

Find Other People To Team Up With In Your Area. Perhaps you're not quite ready to start something on your own, but you'd like to find other people in your area that could help you organize an action. Go to http://www.a28.org/ and list in the Classifieds to put the call out to others to join you, to download posters or find out what's already happening in your area.

The conflict has been exciting, agitating, all-absorbing, and for the time being, putting all other tumults to silence. It must do this or it does nothing. If there is no struggle there is no progress.
