Troop withdrawal initiatives going national April 27, 2006 Since April 4th, when 24 of out of 32 Wisconsin cities, towns, and villages voted for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq, Liberty Tree has been busy fielding calls from all over the country. Troop withdrawal votes will take place this November in at least six Illinois municipalities, as well as dozens of additional Wisconsin cities including Milwaukee. A Philadelphia city council member is pushing for a withdrawal referendum on that city's November ballot. And we've been hearing from grassroots activists in a half-dozen other states who want to bring the question of withdrawal to the people in their communities.
