Peer to Peer EXTRAVAGANZA for Youth Jobs

Date:

April 30, 2008

Location:

Baltimore City Hall

Full Description:

Students from youth organizations across the city are going on strike to demand city funding for youth jobs.

The City Council requested $3 million for Youth Jobs next year but the Mayor has yet to add it to the budget. The deadline for the budget is early May so students will strike to show the city and the Mayor why Youth Jobs are important.

The Baltimore Algebra Project is a democratic, student-run and organized program mainly focused on the one-on-one tutoring of math at the middle and high school levels. Our mission is to carve a community of leaders as well as exhibit leadership while remaining committed to the education of those in need of advancements in their socioeconomic status.
